DAZL Annual Review 2015-16 Please click here to download the PDF Annual Review in full – DAZL Annual Review 1516     Some initial stats from our annual review 2015-16 • In 2015-16 we worked with 4202 young people, 77% were girls of which 1760 took part in live performance opportunities • In 2015-16 we worked with 953 boys they made up 23% of our overall activity, 698 took part in at least one performance • In 2015-16 we deliver 37 schools dance provision engaging 2518 young people • In 2015-16 DAZL participants took part in 81 performances/ events, 13 of these were non Leeds based allowing the young people to gain experiences regionally and nationally. • In 2015-16 of the 4202 young people who engaged in the DAZL program 2488 where inactive doing less than 1 hour of physical activity beyond the school day per week, excluding the DAZL session. AESOP Marketplace Website Launches Featuring DAZL

AESOP Marketplace Website Launches DAZL presented the DAZL Model of using dance as a tool to reduce health inequalities and meet public health outcomes at the First National AESOP Arts & Health Conference at Royal Festival Hall in London. Please checkout this link to the Aesop Marketplace which has been setup to be like an online dating site. It matches health decision-makers with relevant arts in health programmes in an attractive and time-efficient way to enable the work/ conversations to happen. DAZL 15 Year’s Celebrations – 24th & 25th November at Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre 6pm – Live streaming – see below Hi All As you know it’s the DAZL 15 year show over the next two days and as part of that we are having a live streaming of the show. You can add yourself to this by using your Facebook/ Twitter and sign up to this live stream this way of simply just click http://livestream.com/accounts/9685658/events/4521743 and sign up the regular way. Both ways require this link which means you all get to watch it as it happens or if you busy you can watch it up to 2 weeks after show too before its taken down. The show involves school/ community groups from DAZL, Artistic work with our Youth Company, and Dance Films with Wayne Sables. We have guest performances by RJC Dance and NSCD Student and DAZL Artist Mason Jubb and Finally DAZL Dancers on stage with the professional dancers from Phoenix Dance Theatre, Choreographed by Sharon Watson.  Happy 15 Year Birthday DAZL – The peoples views DAZL is celebrating our 15 year Birthday with a two day show at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Theatre. DAZL groups will be performing along with a special performance with DAZL & Phoenix Dance and Dance Films created with Wayne Sables. The project has been supported by Arts Council England, Leeds Community Foundation and Leeds Public Health. Shall We Dance? Promo for the DAZL Is 15 years event with Phoenix Dance Theatre. This work is a real conversation with the dancers and the audience using rep from Phoenix Dance Theatre work which was the initial engagement and conversation. The Dancers from DAZL worked with the professional dancer from Phoenix Dance Theatre intensively for a week.
